Gratitude

We won. 🎉

By the slimmest of margins…but we won. The election was certified yesterday, so now it is official. And now it is time for me to say THANK YOU to every single person who helped make this possible. THANK YOU TO…

Every single person who came out to vote or sent in an absentee ballot. LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR VOTES MATTERED.

EVERY SINGLE VOTE MATTERS.

Every one of you who put a sign on your lawn to show your support for my campaign. And for those of you who drove all over town putting signs on corners and then going back out to put them back up again and again.

Every single person - near and far - who made a campaign donation to help me get my name out there with yard signs, door hangers, and campaign flyers to as many voters in this district as possible before election day. I will never forget or take for granted the amazing memories of our children out there with us, walking through our neighborhoods, engaging in real life civics.

Everyone in my Village who had my back and stood up to the attacks and bullies. Who said “YES! You should have done this years ago!” Who lifted me up when things were hard. Who literally stood by my side and walked me home and showed up. You are my warriors and I will forever be grateful for your friendship and support.

And finally, my kids. They bore this challenge with resilience and fortitude we don’t often ask children to show. They said yes when I asked if I should do this. They hit the streets of our neighborhood with me to hang up door hangers and to meet voters. They were with me at meet & greets. My little one became an expert at putting up yard signs all by himself. My older one asked all of her teachers and friend’s parents if they could vote in this election. They were with me when the votes were counted. They were my biggest cheerleaders, and my chief purpose. I told my daughter that if she ever runs for something one day, I will be her first donor - just like my mom was for me.

THIS IS COMMUNITY.

I am so eternally grateful to all of you. Thank you.
