One Day More…
Tomorrow we vote.
I’ve left it all out there. I really have given this everything I have. I’ve given voters as much information as I could in this abbreviated election season. I went out in person to where the voters were. I made this website so that everyone in the community could get information and ask me questions - many members of our community aren’t on social media and they deserve to be included in the conversation, too.
I am incredibly proud of the campaign we’ve run. I say “we” because there is no way I could have ever done this alone. I owe tremendous thanks to so many people. And I know some people out there are looking for some Deep Throat Koch Brothers donation scandal, but I’m afraid you’re going to be really disappointed. My biggest donor was my mom. She sent out the donation link to the family group chat. And while I’m sure my best friend in Texas would get a kick out of the dust up, there’s just nothing there. I’m blessed to have such generous family and friends who wanted to see me make an honest go of this and also still be able to take care of my family. That’s real community.
Anyway, I want to close this out with a brief story…
I had a wonderful, warm conversation yesterday with a revered member of this community who has deep roots and who remains active to this very day despite having already given over 20 years of her life to these schools. She said yesterday that she was very happy to see that this election seemed so much more peaceful, and that she absolutely hated the vitriol and spite that came out - especially over Facebook - in the past few years during this annual election process. And (until today), I couldn’t have agreed with her more.
To all the voters: I’ve presented my qualifications the best I can. I’ve answered as many reasonably stated questions as honestly as I can. I’ve stood in my integrity, even when I wasn’t saying the popular thing. And now I leave it to all of you to decide if you want ME to represent YOU and your children on this Board. I sincerely hope that you do and that you will give me your vote tomorrow.
Polls open 7am - 9pm at Frank G. Lindsey Elementary School.
