Q & A - “What will you do if you win?”

(A conversation with my 7 year-old on the way to school…)

7 year-old: “Look a bunch more signs! Are they running too?”

Me: “Yep!”

7 year-old: “What happens if you don’t win? Will you do have to do this again?”

Me: “LOL. Oh man…I have no idea, bud. Not anytime soon.”

7 year-old: “What happens if you do win?”

Me: “I’ll get a seat on the Board for 3 years, and then if I want to stay after that I’ll have to do it again in 3 years.”

7 year-old: “What will you do if you win?”

Me: “I’ll go to meetings and help make decisions for your schools. Like…how to pay for things and what rules and guidelines your schools should have.”

7 year-old: 😲 “Can you send us back to the Bronx Zoo???”

Me: “That’s more of a PTA thing, but the Board sets the guidelines that make it okay for you to go to the zoo.”

7 year-old: “Yes! Okay I really hope you win.”

Me: “Me too, bud!” Me too!
